Outlander and Mask Completion!

2 masks completed for one of my husband’s coworkers. Complete with removable nose wire, so it’s machine washable!!

Running Outlander in the background, cause it’s a phenomenal show!

I’m glad I was able to finish these a few hours ago!! He’ll be taking them to work tomorrow & collecting payment for me!

About dang time...also, new glasses!!

I just realized that it has been a few days since my last post...

As I mentioned earlier, I had decent reason to skip the 20th, but once you skip something once for any reason, it makes it that much harder to start back up. I'm hoping to get better about that.

I got my first paid order for face masks day before yesterday, so that's cool! I a bunch of linings and outer shells cut last week (as you saw in a previous post) & I started sewing them 2 days ago. They are due on Tuesday, so I've got plenty of time to get them finished.

Last week, I came across a recipe for Crockpot Peach Cobbler. I finally found time to make it last night and it was FANTASTIC!!

Just peaches so far...we didn’t have any fresh or frozen, so canned it must be!

Set up with all the ingredients, just before turning the crockpot on!

We ate it so fast, I forgot to get a finished pic before it was mostly gone!!

Now, my glasses!!

Sorry about that!!

Sorry I’ve been MIA for a couple of days. April 20th was my daughter’s birthday and the days after were a whirlwind of home work from their school and HORRIBLE acid reflux on my account.

I’m hoping to get more pictures posted up soon!! I’ve been busy making masks and will be posting other projects up soon, including a hoodie I’ll be making for my son’s birthday in about 2 weeks!!

Please comment if you have any questions and I’ll get back to you!!

10th birthday present started & finished today!!

Sorry for the late post today!! I’ve been super busy today!

As I mentioned last post, my middle child will be 10 tomorrow!! She asked me to make her something, she didn’t care what it was, just that it was patchwork & used a bunch of different fabrics...

Early this morning I picked out a pattern from my collection: Rae the Raccoon by Nimblephish Patterns. I modified it a little for my needs, as I needed to make a SLOTH, as it is her favorite animal!

I think this hit the mark. (It even has its own facemask!!)

I’ll post reaction pics tomorrow!!

Knitting, D&D, Fiber, and MORE!!

Stayed up late night before last working on projects and then got to sleep  in yesterday until almost 10:30 am or so, after waking up a few times in the early morning, due to my kids making noise while doing homework. After a quick breakfast, I was able to get a bit of fiber prep done while re-watching the beginning of season 1 of Outlander on Netflix.

About 2pm, our D&D role playing group started setting up for a game on Roll20.net. After some tinkering, we were able to get our current group of 7 people connected with audio and video capabilities!

We had to wait a little bit to have our 7th person build his character, but then we were able to start the adventure and actually were able to complete several days in-game.

Even though there was a bit of hassle to learn the new system, it was worth it in the end. Can't wait for our next session!!

During wait times, I was able to get a few more rows knitted on a shawl I've been working on over the last few weeks.

I finally had some semblance of “organizational  brain” this morning, so I was able to go through two 3-cubic ft boxes from my old craft room, and go through them to get rid of stuff. in the process, I was able to find a TON of sewing/crafting tools I’ve been looking for since the move!!

When I get my sewing area re-organized with proper usability, more pics of such will follow!

Anyways, middle daughter will be 10 on Monday, so I need to "put a pin in" any other projects and finish the birthday present I'm making for her!

Masks, Mowing, and D&D!

Today was lots of serger use on mask pieces!! Also, I mowed the front lawn!!

For dinner, I helped make spaghetti from scratch & garlic cheesy bread made from leftover sourdough bread we made with my sourdough starter I started back in September 2019!!

Then this evening was spent working on my character for tomorrow’s D&D (Dungeons & Dragons) game, using the online host, Role20.net.

No pics from today, but I’ve got some of projects I’ve recently finished...

Cleared out & organized this area for sewing, then planned better later and made that my fiber area with a different table...

S’MORES Monster Cookies!! (I’ll post the recipe in a later post!!)

Shawl I’m knitting up!
Pattern: Boneyard Shawl

And I’ll leave you with a D&D themed meme!!

Masks Galore & Abound!

I took a nap for a few hours on Tuesday.
Then, about 10pm, I took an Excedrin Migraine to help stop a mounting migraine...

For those of you luckily not "in-the-know" that type of Excedrin has a bit of caffeine in it. Taking it that late, in conjunction with having napped earlier in the day, meant that I really wasn't tired when "bedtime" rolled around.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I've begun working on making facemasks for close family and to sell. Tuesday evening, I marked and cut out 10 outer mask shell sets before my husband headed to bed...

Then, from 1-5am or so, I marked and cut out 20 sets of mask linings & 34 sets of outermask shell sets...

Wednesday was spent processing alpaca fiber, online grocery shopping, and running by my kids' school to trade finished homework packets for new ones...also, to pick up school meals.

Today will be spent serging & sewing masks...

⇊          Look how much I got done the other evening!          ⇊

I’ll be posting more pictures on new posts as I progress through the steps!

First Pandemic post

So, as with everyone else in the world right now, we are on a state government-sanctioned “stay-at-home” or “staycation” order...This coming Saturday will be one month!! And tomorrow will be a month since the kids have been off school (I have 3, and they are ages 10, 9, & 7 years old; which translates to 5th, 4th, and 2nd grade respectively).

I was already a stay-at-home mom, but just prior to the Pandemic, had recently been looking for a job. As you can imagine, the job search came to a screeching halt when not only are most businesses now on a hiring freeze, but they are also letting go of MANY of their long-time employees. We are very lucky that my husband’s job is considered “essential”.

Anyways, as to the main point of my post, or even my blog...I’m hoping that with all this “free time” I can give keeping a blog a serious try & I genuinely hope it will help me mark time and to hold myself accountable, craft-wise.

Even if nobody reads this, and therefore it doesn’t help anyone else, I hope it helps me.

Okay, enough with the heavy...here’s some CRAFTINESS!

These are some cube bunnies I made last week for my kids for Easter! I got the idea from a CholyKnight pattern Shiba Cube Plush and the Nimblephish pattern Bunny Hops. I made each of the bunny smiles match my kids varied personalities.

I’ve also been working on processing alpaca fiber to spin and sewing facemasks for family and for sale.

Next post I’ll show you my sewing setup (primarily used for the aforementioned mask making 😷  lately) & also my fiber processing area.

So until next time:

Life is Chaos...I need to accept that...

Okay so it has now been approximately a year and a half since my last post and SO MUCH has happened...  Let's start with one of the bigg...
